A town famous for the production of soap, paper, carriages and haberdashery. In 1718, most of the town's buildings burned down, costing the town many valuable items. During World War II, the first school for rocket troops was located here. In 1991, Pope John Paul II visited the town and consecrated the Shrine of the Covenant as a place of pilgrimage and a statue of him can be found in the town centre.

Preparation before the trip:

  • Motorway vignette.
  • Pet passport and valid vaccinations for movement within the EU.
  • Exchange a couple of Zlotys for street parking.

The drive:

  • No toll gates or other fees.
  • It was a good drive, as we could smell the sea air from afar and were looking forward to walking in the warm beach sand. We had chosen Koszalin as a strategic location for a few days, so that we would be able to drive around all the seaside towns and explore the lighthouses, of which there are plenty.

My review

Location 100
Very close to the centre but in a quiet area. Perfect location for walks.
Purity 90
Clean and new apartment, the only flaw was the lipstick left painted on the bottom of the sink and probably unwashable black dots on the white pillowcases. But the linens were clean, hotel-style, and mandled, so we didn't get the feeling that they were "dirty" at all.
Staff 100
Lovely and very helpful, still answering our questions at 10pm. So if there were problems they were available even if you don't have to physically meet them.
Comfort 90
Fully equipped apartment also for a long stay. You will feel at home. We were personally bothered by the inability to set the air conditioning to less than 21° Celsius. There is no daily housekeeping in the apartment, so don't eat garlic toast in the bed and blow your nose in the towels or you'll have those boogers on your back the next day. If you run out of toilet paper, though, they'll be sure to bring you some - again, same with the towels.
Parking 100
Perfect parking behind the apartment for about 12 cars, there was always a place to park whenever we arrived.
Internet 90
Outdated method of constantly disconnecting and then entering the hotel password into the browser. After three days, you're yelling the password in your sleep.
Novelty 100
The apartments are completely newly built (2020), everything is beautiful and new, we were surprised we did not have to remove the protective film from the TV screen.
Bedroom 100
Beautiful and comfortable bed, plenty of pillows (6) large blanket, hotel bedsheets. For us exactly what we expect from a hotel bedroom.
Bathroom 100
Shower with both free head and overhead shower. Separated from the toilet by glass, so you don't pour litres of water into the toilet while showering.
Kitchen 80
The kitchen was somewhat lacking a sink and running water. It wouldn't have been such a problem if the designer hadn't opted for the absolutely stupid shape of the bathroom sink, where you can't even fill a small bottle with water, let alone wash a bowl. Oh well, you just fill your Chinese soup straight into the bag.
View 50
Our apartment on the lower floor had a street view. We personally didn't mind it, but we can't say that it was a postcard panorama either.
Amenities 80
The apartment was controlled by a modern tablet and generally lived a life of its own. Or maybe it was haunted by the ghost of some deceased worker who might have been settling that cursed sink. Every now and then the lights would turn on by themselves. There were probably motion sensors in the room, and if nothing moved for an hour/two, everything automatically shut off, including the air conditioning. Which is especially appreciated in the middle of the night when you wake up all sweaty. The air conditioning is apparently remotely controlled, a third party controls the temperature so you can actually set whatever you want, it doesn't matter. The smart TV, was completely stupid as it didn't have an internet connection. After all, you didn't have an internet connection either, because your fingers had fallen off from typing in the password again and again.
Entry 100
You couldn't miss, the doors open with a code or an app you download on your phone and then you walk around like a person from the future and open everything around you with just your phone. The app is on both android and iOS.
Reception 0
No reception, no people, no contact, no corona - no problem.
